When Weather Gets in the Way-Here’s What to Expect
At Rocket City Photo, safety and quality always come first. Our Weather Delay Policy helps protect our team, our equipment, and your final media-so your listing looks its absolute best, even when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate.”
When Weather Delays Occur
If there’s a chance of rain, snow, or other weather that could affect your appointment, here’s what to expect:
Our team will reach out 1-2 days before your appointment if the forecast looks unfavorable.
We’ll work with you to find the best time to reschedule, keeping your listing on track as much as possible.
If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, we’ll reschedule to ensure the safety of you, your property, and our team.
We aim to make the process easy and stress-free while making sure your property looks its absolute best.

We understand timing matters
At Rocket City Photo, we understand that real estate moves fast. Weather-related delays can be frustrating when you’re trying to get a listing live, meet MLS deadlines, or coordinate with contractors and stagers. That’s why we take weather decisions seriously and act quickly:
Proactive communication: If the forecast looks questionable, we’ll reach out as early as possible the day before your appointment.
Priority rescheduling: If a shoot is delayed due to weather, we prioritize and fast-track your reschedule.
We respect your time, deadlines, and the pressure you’re under. Our goal is always to minimize delays while ensuring your listing looks its absolute best.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t you shoot in the rain or snow?
Our cameras and other equipment aren’t designed for wet conditions. Shooting in rain or snow could damage our gear and make it harder to capture high-quality images. To ensure your listing looks its absolute best, we schedule shoots in safe, dry weather whenever possible.
What hazards and safety issues does weather cause?
Poor weather conditions can create several risks for our team. Slippery surfaces, heavy rain, snow, ice, and reduced visibility make it difficult to carry equipment safely or operate drones. For everyone’s safety, we never take unnecessary risks on site.
Travel Safety:
If road conditions are hazardous due to ice, flooding, or poor visibility, we may need to reschedule to keep our team-and you-safe. We always monitor local weather and traffic conditions and will contact you promptly if travel conditions make your appointment unsafe.
Can I still have my interior photos done?
Yes! If it’s safe to do so, we can still complete interior services like photography and measurements as originally scheduled. We’ll then return for the exterior work once the weather improves. Please note that a Return Trip Fee may apply for the follow-up visit, and discounted add-on pricing will no longer be valid when services are split between two appointments.
Why do you charge a return trip fee?
A return trip requires extra time, travel, and setup. This helps cover the cost of that additional visit. It also ensures we can keep our overall service pricing fair and transparent.
How fast can you get my appointment back on the schedule?
When weather affects a shoot, we make your appointment a priority. We work closely with you to find the earliest possible time that fits your schedule and ensures safe, high-quality media-often within 1-3 business days. Our goal is to keep your listing on track with little to no delay, so your marketing timeline stays on target.
What types of weather impact appointments?
Appointments may need to be rescheduled due to:
- Rain or snow
- High winds and low visibility (especially for drone flights)
- Severe thunderstorms or tornado warnings
- Extreme overcast or dark skies
- Unsafe road or site conditions such as flooding or ice
